Mardi Gras Cheese Spread

Ingredients
- 8 oz. Package Cream Cheese, Softened
- 1 Tbsp. Onion Powder
- ½ tsp. Granulated Garlic
- ¼ Cup (2 oz.) Unsalted Butter, Cut into Cubes
- 2 Tbsp. Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Water
- 1½ tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp. Whole-Grain Mustard
- Cayenne Pepper to Taste
- ½ Cup Toasted Pecans, Chopped
- Buttery Crackers (Such as Ritz) for Serving
Cooking Instructions
- Whisk cream cheese in a medium bowl until smooth.
- Stir in onion and garlic powders.
- Spread mixture evenly onto a serving plate and chill, uncovered, in refrigerator until firm (about one hour).
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, water, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and cayenne pepper.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly, about five to six minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Let stand until cooled slightly, about five minutes.
- Remove cream cheese mixture from refrigerator and let stand until softened slightly, about 15 minutes.
- Spoon pecan mixture over cream cheese mixture and serve with buttery crackers.
